The history of the Richard Greensitt's family

Richard and Margaret had the banns for their wedding read at the parish church, Chester le Street, on 3rd, 13th and 20th November 1763. The banns were also read on the same days at Bywell parish church, as Bywell was Margery's home village. They were married on 4 December 1763 at St Peters parish church, Bywell.

Two of their children, Mary and Thomas were baptised at Chester le Street.

At Mary's baptism, Richard was a Waggonwright but two years latter he said he was a Waggonman. At this time the family was living in Pictroo.

Richard was living at Chartershaugh when he died in 1804 at the age 65. He was buried in Chester le Street churchyard.
